Why We Love Jefferson County

As soon as you cross Sheridan Boulevard it all begins. It’s not the biggest county in the state, but certainly one of the most diverse. It starts out all city. But soon, if you keep heading west, you realize you are well into the foothills and surrounded by what makes Colorado so beautiful.

To the North we have Jefferson County Airport, Standley lake, Golden Gate State Park, Arvada and Westminster. To the South we have Pike National Forest, The Platte River, The communities of Pine and Buffalo Creek, The Colorado Trail, Camping, Hiking and Fishing galore. And places like the Bucksnort.

In between is one of the best mixes of mountain and city anywhere in the nation. Cities like; Lakewood, Wheat Ridge, Golden, Evergreen and Conifer to name a few. Perhaps the best open space park system anywhere. Chatfield Reservoir, Belmar, the Clear Creek Trail, Lookout Mountain, The School of Mines and parks all over. We use the 6th Avenue highway, Hwy 93, 285 and I-70 to get around quite nicely.

Interspersed throughout this great place are horse properties of varied size and terrain. From sprawling multi-million dollar facilities to that half-acre place near Crown Hill Lake. From urban barns to mountainous get-aways. That’s what this website is all about. Helping people find, buy, sell and enjoy their own special horse haven.
